Stainless Steel of high machinability, Profiles: Round
Steel with considerable chromium content that with the addition of Phosphorus and Sulfur, make it a steel of free machining, is the most machinable of all stainless steels. A very wide range of mechanical properties can be obtained with a conventional heat treatment, it is magnetic in all its states, manufactured by electric furnace, it is a high quality steel, free of any defects and widely used in the Aeronautical and Food Industry. Excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion and water, food acids and basic and neutral salts, the resistance is preserved in all states of its heat treatment but the maximum hardness is achieved with a tempering and polishing. It resists temperatures up to 650 ºC max. ( 1200 ºF ) still in continuous service. its machinability range is 90% based on AISI 1213 steel as 100%. It has very few properties of being a soldier as it tends to crack.
